Hello, I’m Murat Bicak

AI Strategist, Transformation Expert & Speaker

I’m a strategist committed to making artificial intelligence ubiquitous in every type of organization and digital transformation.

I work with large and small companies and help my clients to develop and implement an AI strategy as well as assisting them to infuse AI into their corporate DNA. It turns out that it’s a very difficult endeavor, but I enjoy helping firms to achieve the business benefits.

Look at companies like Airbnb, Amazon, StitchFix, Lyft, Netflix, and how they use AI as a key enabler for delivering customer value and disrupt industries as they do it.

You don’t have to be a digital native to adopt AI in a big way, but you have to do it right. Kicking off disjointed AI projects, spending months on AI initiatives with unclear ROIs, or leaving it to IT won’t help your organization in its transformative journey.

We established Rapid Digital Ventures to support integrating AI into your organization in the most strategic, meaningful and resource effective manner.

Let’s talk to find out how we might support your journey.

Murat Bicak, Founder & CEO, RAPID Digital Ventures

As an executive who led a successful digital transformation, I write and speak on AI strategy and digital transformations. I also work with select clients to help them achieve their business objectives.

I founded RAPID Digital Ventures, as an advisory, research, and incubation firm for applied artificial intelligence for companies that have been around more than ten years. It’s difficult for an established firm to understand and integrate AI but it’s possible if done right, and I’d like to help you with it.

Before this role, I served as the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at the Project Management Institute. I established three new functions at PMI; Strategy & Data Analytics, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Innovation and oversaw others. These new capabilities catalyzed significant growth and innovation. My teams invested, developed and implemented learning algorithms to understand our customers better and support the decision making processes. And lastly, I led initiatives and programs to raise the organization’s digital fluency which is one of the biggest hurdles to any transformation.

All the above resulted in a major digital transformation and led to two acquisitions. It also changed the way the organization served its customers. I served on the boards of PMI China and PMI India. I also became the Executive Sponsor of The Brightline™ Initiative, a global coalition formed with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and other leading organizations.

While at PMI, I wrote and spoke quite a bit and learned that I enjoyed it. So, I continue doing both and am available as a speaker or talk to journalists, or podcasters.

I joined PMI from Monitor Deloitte, where I was a leader within the Firm’s corporate strategy practice.

In that role, I advised Fortune 100 and Private Equity firms and helped my clients develop and execute strategies to reach growth ambitions via organic and inorganic pathways.

Before Monitor Deloitte, I was a Strategic Business Director at Honeywell Performance Materials, where among other responsibilities, I led business development, marketing and commercialization for a new business. I took groundbreaking patented technology and turned them into a global licensing business.

I held various entrepreneurial, leadership and board positions in the materials science, pharma, as well as AI and mobile technology sectors globally. I served as a board member for companies in India, China, the US, and Turkey.

Finally, as one of the early adopters of augmented reality, I invested in AR and continue investing in this domain with investments, products, and research.

I love traveling and immersing myself in new cultures. I learned to speak five languages, but not all are the level that I’d like them to be. I challenged myself and decided to learn Portuguese.

I was brought up in a multicultural setting in Turkey and later lived in eight countries. That probably explains why I like learning about different cultures.

I hold an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS and MS in Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).

More importantly, though, I am a life long learner. These days, I immerse myself in machine learning, mixed reality, and data science through reading, practicing, exploring, and prototyping.

If you’ve read this far, I’d like to leave you with one more thought.

“The person who says he knows what he thinks but cannot express it usually does not know what he thinks.”

Mortimer Adler

I see many people that fit the above description. I try not to be one of them. Look forward to hearing from you.
